Project Description

Overview

The Social Action Ministry (SAM) is responsible for mobilising, speaking and taking action on social issues in our immediate and broader community on behalf of LIC. The ministry organises the members of LIC (and our Community) to enhance LIC’s Social Responsibility. Examples of this include the collection of used clothes for donations to people in need; helping to feed needy students on campus; and the provision of emergency relief items to people affected by disasters.

Secondly, SAM seeks to intervene through advocacy, encouragement and action on social issues that require mature Christian responses and/or attitudes in our society. We do this through writings, information leaflets, events, etc. Examples of this include our blood donation project, the student leadership and mentorship project, and the plastic waste initiative.

Thirdly, SAM also seeks to promote healthy attitudes among LIC members through our Health Walk and Health Talk programmes
