Project Description

Overview

The mandate of the Church Education Ministry (CEM) is to ensure that church members are educated in biblical teaching and all its related aspects that will enable members to lead mature Christian lives.

The seven-point terms of reference are:

  1. To provide a long-term plan to present Christian teaching to the congregation in order to help them mature in the faith.
  2. To identify particular areas in which the congregation needs teaching and to take steps to provide appropriate teaching.
  3. To recommend ways in which such teaching may be effectively carried out, e.g. Sermons, Bible Studies, symposia, articles etc.
  4. To draw up the preaching schedules and Bible study topics for the Church and contact the appropriate preachers/leaders; liaising with the appropriate sub-committee for effective implementation of the church’s aims.
  5. To recommend books, magazines etc. for Partner Bookshop to sell as a complementary/supplementary way of presenting Christian teaching to members of the congregation.
  6. To recommend to the congregation from time to time such literature as would help their Christian growth.
  7. To monitor the LIC membership orientation programme, liaising with the coordinator to ensure its effective implementation. It should also keep the programme under review and make appropriate recommendations to COE for consideration.
